The Women’s Battalion. Producing propaganda. Organising strikes. Many narratives of the Russian Revolution highlight the actions of key men, but what about the women? Historian Catriona Kelly, filmmaker and actress Dolya Gavanski and Natalia Budanova from the Courtauld Institute of Art talk to BBC journalist Lucy Ash about the women of the Russian Revolution.

The event includes a screening of a short extract from Daughters of the Revolution, a new film by Dolya Gavanski, which draws on archive footage to reveal the way women have been represented in Soviet media in the 20th century.
