As a part of the Qatar-Russia 2018 Year of Culture a special Russian pavilion presenting leading publishing houses will open its doors to public at the Doha International Book Fair. The event is taking place until December 8.
During the exhibition days the books of the major publishing houses – Strelka Press, Eksmo, Garage publishing programme, Artemiy Lebedev Publishing House – will be presented at the Russian stand. Not only books but all major events of the Qatar-Russia cross year of culture introduced there. Visitors can watch Russian films and taste tea from Russian samovar, reports Russian in Qatar compatriots community Facebook page.
The design of the pavilion was inspired by Supremacism style, a concept developed during 1913-1915 by Kazimir Malevich and used later in product and graphic design as well as architecture. Sharp geometrical shapes, forming abstract compositions and vivid colours has become a modern trend and the hallmark of Russian art of the XX century.
