You have a unique opportunity to come and listen to the legendary duo (now trio), which provided the beautiful soundrack for the film Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears (yes, yes, this haunting melodious Aleksandra, Aleksandra song written in collaboration with Yuri Vizbor). Now you will be able to see and listen to them live.
Sergey Nikitin is an acclaimed composer, singer and guitar player. With his wife Tatiana, they played a key role in establishing the genre of poetic song, which became overwhelmingly popular in the countries of the former Soviet Union, and is still enjoyed and cherished – now by the third generation of listeners and fans.
They put extraordinary Russian poetry to music – and it becomes an amalgamation of the two. Some authors are internationally renowned poets, like Pasternak, Tsvetaeva and even Shakespeare, whereas others have only recently been ‘discovered’ by the duo, but the songs are no less striking or moving. In a sense, Sergey and Tatiana have become Russian cultural icons. To find out more about their work, please visit: http://sergeytatiananikitiny.com/
