Arseny Tarasevich-Nikolaev and the London Philharmonic Orchestra take on Rachmaninov’s beautiful Second Piano Concerto, in this concert also featuring Mahler’s Fifth.

Stravinsky called Rachmaninov ‘an awesome man’, and in the hands of a really exceptional artist, even a work as familiar and popular as Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto can disclose new wonders.

The award-winning young Russian virtuoso Arseny Tarasevich-Nikolaev is just such a pianist; critics have hailed his ‘precision and power’.

Meanwhile, the German press described Robert Trevino’s recent performance of Mahler’s Fifth as ‘breathtaking’, and from the opening trumpet call to its heaven-storming finish, he’ll be an energetic and inspiring guide through the tragedies, triumphs and heartfelt love songs of Mahler’s sweeping symphonic odyssey.
