As the LPO launches its STRAVINSKY epic project, we are delighted to introduce you to the creative and extraordinary world of NIKOLAI RIMSKY-KORSAKOV, IGOR STRAVINSKY’S teacher. RIMSKY-KORSAKOV became the one, whom Sergei Diaghilev, the founder of the Ballets Russes, celebrated in Paris as one of the founding fathers of Russian classical music.

We exclusively offer a limited number of VIP places for this Divas & Scholars evening at The Exclusive Private Club at The Ivy. Your ticket will include champagne on arrival, seats in the front row for the talk and recital and a three-course dinner with wine when you will be joined by the performers. You will also receive a complimentary copy of the excellent V&A opera exhibition catalogue.

Pianist Dr Sergey Rybin will discuss the exciting sound world of Rimsky-Korsakov with Royal Opera House Principal Artist, the baritone Yuriy Yurchuk and award winning soprano Royal Opera House Young Artist Anush Hovhannissyan. These rising stars will perform a programme of songs and arias by Rimsky-Korsakov and other composers of his circle.

Throughout 2018, we will chronologically chart the life and works of Igor Stravinsky, highlighting the fascinating and changing styles of his music as different cultural and geographical events influenced him. We hope you will take this opportunity to hear about his teacher Rimsky-Korsakov’s music with these exciting future stars at a glamorous private club.
