The world-famous ballerina Natalia Ossipova, Principal of the Royal Ballet, and portrait artist Svetlana Cameron teamed together to produce an exquisite work of art – a portrait of Natalia– due to be put up for charitable auction in aid of the foundation Gift of Life. The portrait is part of a money-cannot-buy experience lot which will be auctioned at the charity evening in aid of the Gift of Life on 5 October. A lucky winner of this lot will be treated to 2 premium tickets to Natalia’s performances and a backstage tour in London during 2017/2018 theatre season. It’s a rare chance to meet Natalia personally. To make it extra special and absolutely unbeatable, Natalia kindly extends her invitation to one of her rehearsals or a private ballet lesson. This is a truly remarkable and generous gift!

The artwork was unveiled to the press at Sophia Contemporary Gallery on 3 July. We cannot thank the gallery enough for having us as guests and providing facilities for the presentation.

Russian dancer Natalia Osipova is a Principal of The Royal Ballet. She joined the Company as a Principal in autumn 2013, after appearing as a Guest Artist the previous Season as Odette/Odile (Swan Lake) with Carlos Acosta. Osipova has appeared as a guest artist with companies around the world. In March 2012 she became a principal of American Ballet Theatre, where she created the title role in Alexei Ratmansky’s The Firebird.
