Russian piano and choral music of the 20th century marking 100 years since the Russian Revolution.

Featuring pianist Martin James Bartlett, former BBC Young Musician of the Year — and music by Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Prokofiev, Grechaninov, Chesnokov and others.

The music will be woven together by narrative written by Rufus Stilgoe, author of our acclaimed Christmas Truce performance of 2014.

The narrative tells a (fictionalised) account of two distinguished and diverse gentlemen – Arthur Ransome and Sergei Rachmaninov – and their involvement with the Russian Revolution in an imagined meeting between this author/journalist at the start of his career and a composer at the height of his
